What are Mini-Reviews?
Mini-Reviews are periodic, semi-systematic reviews that we publish on hot topics in teaching and language education research. They are designed to be rapid, accessible, and practically useful for classroom teachers.
Unlike the full research synthesis underpinning Prism-ED's receipt engine, mini-reviews are AI-assisted rapid syntheses — produced within days rather than months. They carry appropriate caveats about their scope and methodology.
Rapid
Published within days of identifying a hot topic, using AI-assisted synthesis of the available evidence.

Structured search protocols and inclusion criteria, but streamlined for speed and practical utility.

Mini-reviews are not equivalent to the full research syntheses in the Prism-ED database. They are designed for speed and accessibility, not exhaustive coverage.
AI assistance in mini-reviews is limited to screening and extraction support — all synthesis and conclusions are reviewed by a member of the research team.
Mini-reviews will carry explicit statements about their scope, date of search, and inclusion/exclusion criteria.
