About
An evidence companion for every teacher
Personalising research evidence for every teacher.
Why Prism-ED?
A prism takes something complex and reveals its underlying structure. Educational research is rich, diverse and often difficult to navigate. Prism-ED helps teachers see that evidence more clearly by transforming research into personalised insights that inform classroom practice. Rather than replacing professional judgement, Prism-ED supports teachers in making informed decisions by bringing together the best available evidence in a form that is practical, transparent and relevant.
What sets Prism-ED apart is its evidence base. Unlike automated indexes that scrape everything, every article in the Prism-ED database is carefully curated by a team of educational researchers — ensuring that only the most relevant research syntheses inform the receipts you receive.
Our Mission
To bridge the gap between academic research and the classroom. Every teacher — regardless of subject, institution, resources, or time — deserves access to the best available evidence about teaching. We make that evidence readable, structured, and immediately useful.
Our Vision
A world where every teaching decision is informed by evidence. Where research is not locked behind paywalls and jargon, but lives in every classroom — accessible, practical, and personal to each teacher's context.
Core principles
Transparency
Every receipt is traceable to its sources. We show the evidence type, the limitations, and the references — so you can verify and dig deeper.
Evidence
We draw from research syntheses carefully curated by a team of educational researchers. No opinions, no tips, no unverified claims — just the best available evidence, clearly presented.
Accessibility
Research should not live behind paywalls and jargon. Prism-ED translates complex findings into plain English, available to every teacher, free.
Personalisation
Your question, your context. Prism-ED adapts to what you ask, surfacing the evidence most relevant to your classroom and your students.
Copyright Compliance
Prism-ED is designed to fully respect academic copyright.
- Prism-ED does not store PDFs, full texts, or any copyrighted content from published articles.
- The database contains only article metadata (title, author, year, journal, DOI) and abstracts that are freely available from publishers or public repositories.
- No full text from any publication is stored, displayed, or included in AI-generated receipts or other outputs.
- All AI-generated responses are synthesised summaries based on metadata and abstracts — not reproductions of original text.
- The AI model is explicitly instructed never to reproduce exact wording from any source article.
- Users can follow DOI links to access original articles directly from the publisher, subject to their own access rights.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who is Prism-ED for?
Prism-ED is designed for classroom teachers across all subjects, phases, and geographic contexts who want to access teaching research evidence quickly, in plain English, without needing to read full academic papers.
What kind of research is in the database?
The database contains research syntheses — systematic reviews, meta-analyses, and scoping reviews — carefully curated by a team of educational researchers. It stores only article metadata (title, author, year, journal, DOI) and freely available abstracts — no PDFs or full texts. Phase 1 focuses on language education.
How accurate are the AI-generated receipts?
Receipts should be read critically. AI synthesis can make errors, over-generalise, or miss nuance. The quality of individual research syntheses has not yet been appraised. Always apply evidence in the context of your own professional judgement.
What is Phase 1?
Phase 1 of Prism-ED focuses on language teaching — covering English and other languages. Future phases will expand to other curriculum subjects and educational domains, and will add quality appraisal of the underlying research.
Can I get a receipt translated?
Yes. Once a receipt is generated, use the "Translate" button to render it in your preferred language. Translations are AI-generated and should be read with the same critical eye as the English original.
Does Prism-ED violate academic copyright?
No. Prism-ED does not store or reproduce full texts, PDFs, or copyrighted content. The database holds only freely available metadata and abstracts, and AI-generated receipts are synthesised summaries — not reproductions of original text. See the copyright section above for full details.
How do I contribute to the community?
Every search you make is automatically shared to the community repository (you can make individual receipts private). Create a free account to access your personal library and manage your receipts.
